[Distorted Image of The City]
Most of postcards have a photograph and name of a city on them. One photograph cannot represent a whole city, but a postcard has a fate to represent it. I like this contradiction. A postcard are forced to represent the image of the city.
Like each tourists chose different postcards of New York that all the people who experience the city have each feeling and experience. An individual image of the city is distorted. The aggrigation of them creates the distorted image of the city.
I treat these kind of things for my architecture design.

[歪んだ都市のイメージ]
多くのポストカードはその表面に1枚の写真と都市の名前が記されている。1枚の写真では都市全体を表わすことは出来ない、しかしながらポストカードはそれを表現する宿命を背負っている。私はこの矛盾が好きだ。ポストカードは都市のイメージを象徴させられているのである。
都市を経験する全ての人は、例えばそれぞれが違ったニューヨークのポストカードを選ぶように、それぞれ異なった経験をし感情を持つ。個人的な都市のイメージというのは歪んでいると言えるだろう。そういったものを集積したものが歪んだ都市のイメージとなる。
私は建築において、そういったものを取り扱っている。
